The book has some valuable information , but I don't like the author's way of writing. I wouldn't say it drives you beautifully to the end, I actually left it without finishing it. I'm really interested in Solar Arc but just couldn't get along with the speech and I end up with unclearness as well. English is not my firs language but all astrology books I read are in english and I had never had the problem of having so many doubts while reading.
This book is full of the author's ego, and is often a mere rehashing of material in other of his work.
I returned it. I thought it altogether too self-centered. The information I needed was NOT very easily accessible without laboring through all of his sessions of other people, and "personal" experiences. There is no Broad-Based treatment or commentary on specific Progressed Aspects. There's gotta be a better book out there.
Not for beginners
Tyl has a unique and wonderful perspective. An incredible tool for astrologers.
Classic work on solar arcs and chart rectification. Clear and compete with loads of historical and theoretical information.
I have always enjoyed Noel's work and this book did not disappoint. A very complex subject is nowmore attainable for me with his years of experience...
I bought this book and subsequently bought some software that was based on Noel Ty's astrological solar arc system to produce reports for me. Like others have said, I did see some correlation, but at other times, some events were very uneventful. It's as if solar arcs shows you what could likely happen during a time period, but not necessarily what will happen. Yes, I realize that he makes a point of it in the book that you cannot only look at astrology but have to look at the person to see if such an event can come about because of circumstance and gives practical examples.In addition, I found out that after using the software, that there was almost something going on every month - usually at least 2 or 3 times some midpoint, or planet was squaring, conjunctioning, or trining with something. It is probably a logistical nightmare unless someone is obsessive compulsive about doing their horoscopes every month/week/day.There are other systems out there that may affect a person's life - like numerology, or 4 pillars feng shui, chinese astrology, or even flying star feng shui.. that tries to forcasts year to year... some of these can be as accurate as traditional astrology. If one were trying to forcast one's future, then I don't think only one system is enough.
