I'm a big fan of Chris McMullen's workbooks, generally just for the extra practice problems. This one, though, is really well done. It isn't advanced, but is a nifty little book to give kids an idea of how to look for the pattern (instead of the answer.) Most of the patterns are pretty clear, but there are enough slightly tricky ones to throw a kid off their game if they're just trying to find an answer or taking the "This is easy, I don't have to work at it" approach.The schools do very little (if any) pattern work with the kids and it's on the dang SAT, so they need to learn it and they must begin somewhere. This is an EXCELLENT place to begin.Now if he'd just write a tougher one. I cannot seem to find a good book for the next step up.
I think is a great math puzzle book. Very engaging as well as challenging, with just the right amount of difficulty for me.

Tougher than I expected
My daughter is still using this even though we bought it months ago. I expected her to use it a couple of times and leave it in her room. She still uses it for a boredom buster.
Pretty fun and challenging. There were some questions that though challenging were not challenging in interesting/useful ways.
