I purchased a B&D air fryer so figured the book was a good addition. Well, my fryer is 'round' and the cookbook is apparently for a unit that has a 'square' basket. Tried making a grilled cheese sandwich and it's like putting a square peg in a round hole. Says to lay 2 slices of bread side by side! Try doing that in a round basket :-( does NOT work. I could live with that but there are MANY recipes that insist you put food 'side by side' .... impossible!! I've just given up and improvise or skip over those recipes. Something I DO love is that way it does veggies - it's great to have 'roasted' veggies without all the hassle of preheating the oven, etc. Carrots are my favorite!!

I have been cooking for several years and although I just got this book, it is very well detailed. No pictures. Just got the air fryer and will review at a later date. Lets face it Black and Decker has been around a long time, they know what they are doing. I ordered the cookbook for this fryer. Get the book if you get the fryer. It has helpful tips in it.

This book has a selection of recipes organized by sections like: Breakfast, Appetizers, Main Courses, Pasta, and Desserts. While reading the recipes, you will find some clever techniques for amplifying air fryer capabilities. A number of the recipes were rather complex, but they all give ideas which can be readily simplified or altered to suit your circumstances. No color pictures, but none are really needed.

I really enjoy the fact that when using the airfryer, I don't have to preheat. This really cuts down on cooking time. I also like that I don't have to use much oil, if any, on the food. Generally when I get a new small appliance, it takes some practice and time to begin to include into my regular food prep routine: not so with this cooker. I'm finding ways to use it almost daily.

I not a big fan of this book. I love the air fryer but I don’t like that this recipe book has so many recipes that call for wrapping stuff in aluminum foil. Lately I’ve been reading that cooking in aluminum foil causes leaching of aluminum into the food. It’s a tiny amount but adds up if you do it all the time. Some of the recipes are good but require adjustments to remove the foil.

A friend want me to purchase this for them. They were extremely pleased with everything about the item. He loves the recipts and how fast the book came.

Stan Lee's memoir, "Amazing Fantastic Incredible", covers his life beginning with growing up as Stanley Martin Lieber during the Great Depression and dreaming about adventures through his current, non-Marvel work with his POW! Entertainment group. The narrative itself, told with the help of Peter David and Colleen Doran, takes the format of one of Lee's lectures, with him following topics as they relate to one another and not necessarily in chronological order. The authors use the graphic novel format to full effect, surrounding well-known Marvel artists with examples of their work or images related to the narrative, such as a boom tube to portray Jack Kirby's move to DC.Having researched the history of Marvel Comics while working on my M.A. thesis, I know that the narrative avoids covering some controversies with artists and businessmen in much depth, but Lee is not attempting to tell an academic history of the business. To his credit, Lee does not ignore these issues, he simply avoids dwelling on them when the purpose of his work is to tell his own life's story. And it is a good story, full of touching moments. Lee is genuinely saddened to have lost his working relationships with Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby.Lee details the famous Marvel Method that allowed the House of Ideas to turn out so many original characters in a relatively brief amount of time, continually describing his desire to write stories with realistic dialogue, natural humor, and believable characters. In fact, "Amazing Fantastic Incredible" reads like any of Lee's best comic books, with occasional asides to the reader. This latest autobiography will appeal to fans of Lee's work or Marvel fans in general.

Of course Stan Lee, the master of the Silver Age of Comics, would tell his life story in the form of a graphic novel. And of course it would be funny, touching, and discrete with the perfect balance of egotism and unexpected modesty. He is careful to pay tribute to the great artists who collaborated with him, and he finds a sense of humor about the bad times. This is a terrific companion piece to his earlier books, a kind of after and before look at one of the major griots of the 20th and,now, 21st centuries. (Disclosure: I made the A&E "Biography" episode on Stan Lee and I paid for my copy of this book.)

AHHH Man! This book or I should say....comic book Book is great! Any Stan Lee fan will totally like this comic book Book. Its Stan Lee's life story all in comic book form. It was mind blowing when I looked through this amazing comic book Book. Very well written and the drawings are so well drawn. It is a very unique way for Stan Lee to write about his life. All in comic book form! Very well done for the master that had this brilliant idea for Stan Lee. I will recommend this hard book comic book about Stan Lee to any comic book fan of Stan Lee's. Well worth the money. Enjoy!

I LOVED this. When I first heard about this book, I ordered it instantly, and then anxiously waited until the mailman dropped it off at my door.I love that the storyline is set up like Stan is giving a talk to a crowd- complete with getting carried away with a story and needing to stop and back up to fill in some details. Throughout the book, I thought that his voice and personality were captured perfectly. You could really feel his positivity, his pain, and his struggle. And of course the artwork was lovely!Favorite line:"As for what I read, it would be easier to say: what DIDN'T I read? I'd read the label on a bottle of ketchup if nothing else was around!"

So I just read all of Stan Lee’s autobiography in one sitting. As you can guess, I thought that it was “Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir” which also just so happens to be its title. It introduced me to several aspects of Stan Lee’s life of which I was not aware, from the sad (his second daughter passed away while she was still a baby) to the humorous (he almost went to jail for “stealing” his own mail from the post office) to the downright weird (he once wrote a comic series about a stripper). What makes this autobiography (or, perhaps, semiautobiography) unique and completely fitting for the man whose story it tells is that it is in comic book form (hence the semiautobiography, as he had another writer assist him and an illustrator to do the art). Also fitting is that the art isn’t mere illustration, it actually helps to tell the story of his life and is inseparable from the writing (as any good comic book should be). I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan superheroes, pop culture, comics, biographies, or simply reading in general, as it is the story of a man who loves to read (and write!) and how that love has shaped his life. I did not expect this to be in comic format but it makes sense. Great art and story of the father of comics. Should be in every comic collector's library.As for the shipping company, I will never do business with them again because it should not take one item over a month to arrive.

If you're a comic geek, you have probably heard all the convention stories and hype about the founder of the Marvel Universe. But this book made it feel like Stan was sitting down and just sharing his life with you. It will probably be missed by many, but the artist did some powerful subtle messages that added to the story. For example, when Stan mentions losing their child, the page has completely black background, and the expression on Stan's face and how he seems pained to discuss this event and just wants to move on was a very powerful presentation of that one event.

It came in great shape and secure in it's package. The only reason I gave it four instead of five is because the quality of the writing itself. I wish Stan Lee had gone further into depth about more characters and his dealing with Disney, so while it seems short comparatively to his long illustrious life, it was still a fun read. I definitely recommend it for Marvel and comic fans both.

I have very fond memories of reading Frog and Toad when I was little. They were funny then and they're funny now, some thirty-odd years later. I have purchased three of the Frog and Toad books for my child and love reading them to him. I bought Arnold Lobel's books in hardcover when they first came out. Our children adored the stories and illustrations and they wanted us to read them every night at bedtime. By following along as we read Lobel's and other "I Can Read" books, our children learned to read before they entered school. The stories are definitely designed to facilitate reading skills but they are also engaging, with a focus on friendship, love and behaviour. I cannot recommend these charming books enough.Now for the negative comments: The Kindle versions are extremely disappointing; the font and illustrations are quite small. One can double tap and increase the font size a little bit, in small sections. This doesn't allow for reading to a child while smoothly running a finger under the words being read, as it would if all of the text on a page was enlarged at once. Running a finger under the text is a significant step in teaching a child to read while using "I Can Read" books, so this particular "double tap" method defeats that purpose.In addition, the illustrations don't seem as vibrant as in the hardcover books and they can't be enlarged. The publisher did a real disservice to both the author and the readers by the poor job they did in transferring the books into digital format.Even with my dislike for the way in which the publisher digitalized this book, it is still a very worthwhile purchase. It's message is timeless and the stories and illustrations are sure to appeal to both it's target audience and to the adults reading it to them.

Arnold Lobel was one of the few authors who can read their own work well. This is one of the best audio books, bar none. Arnold is not only better than any other author, but most of the professional actors who have done audio books. What I should say is that he tells the stories, he doesn't read them. The music that accompanies the telling, I can take or leave.

Arnold Lobel was such a wonderful writer, I'm not quite sure what to say about this book or how to say it. For now I'll leave that to the other 5-star reviews. I'm just here to tell you the Kindle edition needs some work.The problem is this isn't really an ebook but a set of scans - single images, two pages at a time, so that you can't even read them in portrait mode. Perhaps the newer Fire models can accommodate this somehow, but on both my Paperwhite and my son's 7" Fire, as well as the Kindle desktop application, each two-page scan is forced into a single landscape display. I don't exaggerate when I say these are nothing but images of the pages. There seems to be no interaction available with the text, and zooming in on the illustrations isn't possible. Even basic pinch zooming in on the entire page isn't permitted.I don't approve of giving good books poor ratings because of publisher laziness. If I did, this one would get 2 or 3 stars. The colors are a little more vibrant than in the newer print editions, and for what it's worth the scans are clear. The table of contents does work, but not from the Go To menu, only on the actual Table of Contents page.If you already own these books in print and you have a big Kindle or REALLY good eyesight, go for it. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and buy the physical books. Lobel's work is essential for both children and adults, stunningly wise at times and always beautiful. The Frog and Toad stories are among his best, and these ones are particularly good.

Just before my little boy turned 3, we started playing stories on CD for him. This one is his favorite.We have never read the Frog and Toad books, but somehow just by listening, he latched onto the plots of all the stories and loves them and asks repeatedly to have this two-disc set played for him while he quietly plays in his playroom.Just a head's up for any parents who might be interested: either Toad or Frog at one point scolds the other, "shut up!" which led to a many-days-long issue with my boy here at the house. It has passed, but it was unpleasant while it lasted. Also at one point one of them says "he is trying to kill me!" and that word hasn't been introduced in our house yet. Not a big deal but if you're playing these stories for really little ones, it's something to be aware of.Also for whatever reason, the story called The Lost Button rubs my kid the wrong way, HARD, and we have to be ready to skip ahead or else deal with a meltdown.EDIT TO ADD: My son is now almost 4 1/2 and he still listens to this disc at least twice a week. He has outgrown his fear of The Lost Button. I highly highly recommend this CD.EDIT JULY 2014: My boy is 5 1/2 and still this is on constant rotation. Several times a week, and now he also acts it out when it's not playing. A+++++.

I'm a Christian mom and am introducing Jesus and God to my kids. I was looking at a new Max Lucado book for myself when I came across this one. My four-and-a-half year old daughter LOVES cats so I figured this book would be cute for me to read to my twins!I'm Not a Scaredy-Cat is a new book for kids written by Max Lucado and it's incredibly cute, humorous, and helps to teach kids about trusting God. According to the back of the book, it's based on Philippians 4:6-9, which talks about not being afraid about anything and instead presenting your requests to God. The main character in the book is a cat who is a big and strong cat. This cat isn't a scaredy-cat except when certain things happen like a marching band plays loudly and an elephant sneezes, just to name a couple. The cat learns to say a short prayer to help get over these fears and it's stated three times in the book. The words also rhyme so the story flows nicely and makes it fun to read!We purchased the board book and it is already a hit in our house! It measures 8 inches by 8 inches by 3/4 inches and contains 22 pages. My daughter loves the cat, the funny animals, and of course, the pink donut pictured on the front cover, which makes an appearance in the story! My son enjoys the story as well although he's not into it as much as his sister. Still, I feel it's well-worth buying and I love how it teaches kids to turn to God when they are scared. We are happy with our purchase and highly recommend it!

My 4 yr old granddaughter just started nursery school this year and is very shy. She cried several times, not wanting to leave Mommy. Before her nap I read her this story and she's asked for it many times since. She's doing much better at school. Whether it's because she thinks about this story or not, I figure it can't hurt.

Love his books and this is no exception. Always has a good lesson but written appropriately for children to enjoy. My grandchildren love it
